These aren't really reviews so much as it is to let you decide to spend the money on it or not. Movies can cost a lot of $$.

Based on a true story... very powerful movie! Basically about a black man (Jamie Foxx) falsely accused of murder, the trial that sent him to death row, and the just graduated lawyer (Michael B. Jordan) who works tirelessly to prove his innocence.
However you feel about the death penalty, it shows you the reality of it (as much as it can).
Not only does Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx do a great job acting, but actor Rob Morgan (another inmate on death row in the movie) did just as well!
And the biggie? Very surprised that there was no sex or foul language in it.  
A must see IMO. 
                       I gave it an 8.5 out of 10.

Reminiscent of the movie Clue.  A whodunnit movie.

Very funny ... not really a dark comedy, but not your typical comedy either. Lots of twists and turns of course.

Very entertaining.

All I can say is "weird".  I came close to walking out in the very beginning until I started to understand it and figure things out, once I was able to do that, I liked it (yeah, I'm a little slow lol).

Very funny, but serious also.

If you like odd / weird movies, this would be for you. lol

(Warning... of course towards the very end, they drop the F bomb, hence the PG-13 rating).

                       I gave it an 7 out of 10.

If I was to give anything other than a 10 out of 10 for Mr. Rogers, there is a place in hell with my name on it. lol

Maybe I've gotten soft (or delirious) by giving the last few movies high scores, but seriously, I'm probably giving this movie a 10 because of the feel good feelings you get watching this man's life... He was original, what you saw is what you really got. There was nothing phoney about him, and thats what makes him so special (am I getting sappy or what? lol). 

After while, you forgot that Tom Hanks wasn't really Mr. Rogers (yeah, he was THAT good!). 

Don't be surprised if he gets awards for this one.

I gave it an 10 out of 10.

Ya gotta love these true story movies! lol 

When I first saw the movie trailer weeks ago,  I knew I wanted to see it, but had no idea how good it would be.

Even if you aren't a car racing fan,  I'm pretty sure you will still like this....  It is crazy good!!!

Very few times do I give a movie a 10 out of 10 rating, but I came very close to doing so on this one.... Its a must see IMO.

                       I gave it an 9.8 out of 10.

I wasn't expecting anything but a dumb / cheesy movie that I would regret going to, but.... it was actually very good.

Not a movie someone who didn't know who the Beatles were though.

Super family show!

There were a lot of places where you just plain bust a gut laughing.

Can't go wrong with this one, its clean and well done (Kevin Hart is funnier than heck).

Not a movie I think people under 55 years old can appreciate.

Funny comedy / drama that shows the odd behaviors between two older adults that overlook one anothers issues (and come to terms with it).

Some might think it is slow and somewhat boring, but I liked it.

I wasn't going to see this, but heard it was really good (and it was!).

I'm not a big fan of egomaniac Will Smith, but I have to admit he was really good in this movie.

How many Aladdin's can they make without repeating  themselves over and over?? I dunno, but I personally think this is the best one they (Disney) have done.

Super good, super clean for the whole family.

It's a must see.... You can't go wrong.

This is not for kids... and it really isn't a movie, it is more of a documentary. If you aren't interested in WWI (Germany), then this isn't for you, but if you are, you will enjoy this.
Only real footage was used (but restored, and colorized). It can get graphic in places (dead bodies etc).
Very informative. Opens your eyes as to what the soldiers had to go through.
This was produced by the BBC, so it is mainly about British soldiers, not Americans.

 I gave it an 8 out of 10.

I was hoping it would be good, but personally, I was disappointed.  Just too silly / cheesy for my liking... Is it worth spending money on? Not in my opinion.

If you're not familiar with Oliver & Hardy, you may not want to see this.  But for me personally,  I liked it a LOT.
You may remember John Reilly from such comedy movies as Talladega Nights & Step Brothers. In this movie, he pretty much plays a serious role, and did a great job!  British actor Steve Coogan does a great job also.

  I gave it an 8 out of 10.

A remake of a 2012 French film (true story) that was a huge hit worldwide (except here, it was non-English).
After seeing the trailer for it for the past few weeks, I thought it was going to be a gut busting laugh after laugh movie, but it wasn't.
A lot of it was a serious drama (with comedy mixed in). Don't get me wrong, it was pretty dang funny in many parts, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
Kevin Hart showed a very different side of himself in this movie, incredible acting IMO. Personally, I think he should get some kind of an award.

                       I gave it an 9 out of 10.

I really don't know what to say. lol   If you are a big Will  Ferrell fan, you will love the sense of humor in this movie, but I must warn you, it is VERY dry humor. 
Personally I liked it, not over the top liked it, but it made me laugh enough times. I'm glad I went.

Hmmm... If yer into this kind of movie, I guess it would be very good (but I'm not).  
Tons of action.... As for special effects, its really well done. 
Long movie (2 hrs & 22 mins), but even though its long, you didn't realize it really, things go pretty fast. 
If I were a fan of DC Comics, I'd give this an...

I wasn't going to see this but went as my daughter Lisa said she liked it, but for me, one of the reasons why I wasn't going to go see it, is that I can't stand Sylvester Stallone!
All i can say is, if you are a big "Rocky" fan, you'll more than likely like this. I on the other hand found it your typical Rocky movie, nothing really different, just different actors. I give it a low rating based on that. Same ol' same ol'.

                       I gave it an 5.0 out of 10.

I haven't seen it, but Mary has and said it was great (good luck finding a seat though during the holiday lol).

Based on a true story.... Very good movie,  the only thing is, there is too much swearing for my liking.  The story line is not something a kid / teenager would be interested in though.

Based on a true story... I thought it would be dumb and  cheesy, but found it pretty dang funny.  Is it a movie to take your family to? Well, there is some swearing in it, but that seems to be the norm these days, especially for a PG-13.

If you are a Queen fan, you will really like this.
I like the band, I just wasn't a big fan as a teenager (yeah, long ago lol).
Even though it's rated PG-13, keep in mind a lot of the movie depicts his gay lifestyle. 
Freddie's life was over the top crazy, most of his  career (according to the movie) portrayed him as a very troubled person.

I gave it an 8.5 out of 10.

Not a big fan of these kinds of movies, but it was pretty good. A little slow in the beginning for my liking, but it eventually moved along faster. 
 Personally, I liked about the last 45 mins. Lots of action, cool special effects.

Not a movie for a young kid (or I even doubt a teenager) would want to see. 
Personally, I liked it, but it was pretty slow moving a lot of times. I found it interesting only that I like Robert Redford, and the story is "mostly" true.
If you are looking for a fast / entertaining movie, you will be disappointed. 
I was very surprised at how clean it was (language / sex etc), I don't even recall any.
I found it still a good movie, but for adults only who like more of a documentary kind of movie. 
I gave it an 7.5 out of 10.

Why I won't be going to see this movie:
The director decided NOT to show the American flag on the moon, the decision was deliberate because the moon landing "transcended countries and borders". Give it to Hollywood by boycotting this movie! I hope it bombs!

Really really good. Lots of action with a cool story line. All ages will like this! Good family movie to see together.

Not for kids, and probably not for teenagers (unless they are into WWll history).
Ben Kingsley was fabulous! 
Don't expect this to be a fast action thriller, cuz it's not, but it is still entertaining (even though it starts out slow IMO).
This is more of a true event movie than anything (which I personally like).
Spend your hard earned money to see it? Absolutely!

I gave it an 9 out of 10.

I had no intention of seeing this, as I thought it would be really stupid, until a few people said it was pretty good (if you like this type of movie).
It was much better than I thought it would be, but I still only give it a 6 - 7, maybe if you are a big Jaws / shark fan, you would give it a higher rating... Would I go see it a second time? No 
Would I spend money to see it at the theater? Sure, but only if there is nothing really good to go see. 
I gave it an 6-7 out of 10.

I really thought this was going to be over the top cheesy, but it wasn't. Super good movie to take your family to!
There are a few scenes of killing animals for food, so if your family is too young and sensitive for that, you may want to take that into consideration.
I went with Mary to see this one, we both liked it a lot!
Definitely a must see.

Not what I was expecting.
This is a movie (IMO) for teenage girls. It's a love story basically (with a some humor thrown in).
Kinda slow for a while in the beginning. It never got really funny, but funny enough to keep me from walking out.
Do I recommend spending money on it? Hmm, only if you're bored and have nothing else to do.

I gave it an 5-6 out of 10.

Oh yeah!  This is a must see if yer a Mission Impossible fan!
It's almost 2 & 1/2 hrs long, but you'd never know it, total non-stop action!! Sooo many twists and turns. As soon as you think you have something figured out, you're either wrong, or there is a lot more to it.
Fantastic movie!  You will not be disappoint!

Well.... Kinda lame actually.
Cheesy & predictable.
For example... When Dwayne Johnson is hanging by his fingernails from a 60 story window, you never got scared because you knew he was going to make it just fine, sure... they usually do in movies like this, but this one just seemed to not have that "oh my gosh!" factor to it. lol
So... IMO, if you don't have many choices, this one is fine to see, but I would see it on the big screen if i was going to see it at all, renting it on your home TV wouldn't have nearly the same effect. I gave it an 6 out of 10.

Soooo many left wing / so-called Hollywood critics said it was absolutely awful, but thats because they are left wing liberals who hate to hear the truth.
This is a must see movie (documentary). I personally could watch it over and over again.
Don't listen to the liberals, Conservatives will love it.

Funny in many places, but also very cheesy.  Not a great movie, but it keeps you busy. Would i buy a movie ticket? Sure,  but if you happen to be a serious Marvel fan, don't get mad if it isn't what you expected.

Most movies like this have a lot of adult humor, and the last couple of these were pretty good, but for some reason, Mary and I both didn't care for it that much. I'm sure little kids would still love it though. We just weren't big fans on this one. I gave it an 4-5 out of 10.

I read on the internet of the possibility of this movie knocking Black Panther off as the top grosser, well... I seriously doubt that is going to happen.
Don't get me wrong, Tomb Raider is a good movie, but it won't surpass Black Panther.
For one thing, Black Panther had a lot more action (and faster action), and the movie turned different directions than what you would have expected, Tomb Raider was more obvious where it was going. 
Still very much worth seeing... It did however remind me a lot of Indiana Jones.
  I gave it an 8 out of 10.

I didn't plan on seeing it, as the commercial for it on T.V. looked kinda dumb, but one of my son's saw it and said it was pretty good, so I only went on his recommendation.
It wasn't the kind of movie I was expecting (at all). There were never any slow parts, all action, and really good. 
After hearing on the news about how much it has done $$ at the box office, I can see why. Well done and exciting. I'm certain we'll be seeing a number of other one's down the road. 
  I gave it an 9 out of 10.

Super disappointed!  If you saw the trailer on T.V., that was one of the most exciting scenes.
The movie was B O R I N G until the last 15 minutes.
Sure, I had to keep in mind, that the real life heroes played themselves throughout the whole movie, but it was bad nonetheless.
I am shocked that it was directed by Clint Eastwood of all people. It was as if a High School kid did it... The movie was awful IMO. I certainly wouldn't waste my money on it at the theater, and I'd only rent it if there was nothing else to watch. I was really excited to see it, but boy was it a let down.
  I gave it a 3-4 out of 10.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, I always see them all.  lol
Other than being too slow for my liking in the beginning, it was well made and didn't disappoint. The ending was well worth it.
Star Wars fan or not, this was really good.
 I gave it a 8.5 out of 10.

The critics didn't give this a very good rating, so I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise, I personally liked it a lot (beautiful scenery, and a lot of big star names).
I've never read the book, nor seen any other previous movies that were made about it.  If you already know the ending from an older version, then I don't know why you would want to see it again (unless out of curiosity).
Children nor teenagers would be interested, but its great IMO for adults.

                       I gave it a 9 out of 10.

If you saw the first one, you'll love this! Way way funny. 
Basically, its about 2 "blended families", who end up having issues with each other during the Christmas season. 
I really don't want to say much more, as I would end up ruining things for you.
Mary and I both thought it was hysterical.
There were a number of swear words, but nothing super bad, nothing you wouldn't hear on T.V.     I gave it a 9 out of 10.

I was really hoping this was going to be a story about Bruce Lee's real life. Maybe some of it was, but most of it obviously wasn't. Surprisingly, the story kind of made him a villain through out most of the movie.
Needless to say, there was lots of fighting (just like any and all Bruce Lee movies).
If you like that sort of thing, then you will probably like it. It was OK in my opinion, but nothing more than that.

Sorry folks, I personally didn't care for it that much, I guess you have to be a fan of Superheros (which I'm not), but if you are, it could be your cup of tea. 
The special effects were good, but bad acting in my opinion.
Did I feel like I got ripped off when I walked out after it was over? No, but I wasn't that impressed either.
Before I saw it, I heard from a few people that it was really good, my expectations were too high I guess.

This is adults only humor (not because of bad language etc, just that kids wouldn't get it). 

Mary and I had no idea what this was about, but there was nothing else to see so we took a risk, and boy was it worth it! Pretty funny.... kind of a Napoleon Dynamite in a way (some of the sense of humor). Really red neck comedy if you like that sort of thing.

This is an absolute must see!!!  I  do not for the life of me understand why this movie hasn't been advertised on T.V. like it should be. Woody Harrelson was fantastic! Probably the best acting role I've ever seen him in.
Mary and my sister and I went and saw it together. When we walked out of the theater, we all said "if this doesn't get an Academy Award, I'll be ticked!".
This is NOT a movie for children (they would probably be bored), but for adults, super good!
It was rated NR, but it did a few swear words in it (nothing real bad that I recall).
This is a don't miss movie. I'd be shocked if anyone walked out of there saying they didn't like it.
All 3 of us gave it a 10 out of 10.

I was told by a relative that this was super good, so I was hoping it to be... NOT!  I dunno, I guess if you are a big Spiderman  fan, you'd  like this, but I was almost bored with it.... It was really a movie for early age teenagers.... Super cheesy IMO.
i personally wouldn't spend the money on it. Netflix or something? I guess, but I wasn't impressed.

Lots and lots of action! If you like true war stories, then this is for you. ... I don't think young kids would be that interested though. 
It is absolutely amazing what men go through during war!  I guess you find out what you're made of one way or another.
There is so much going on, you don't have a second to leave for more popcorn (or what ever). lol
I personally liked it a lot... No, there were really any top box office movie stars in it, but it didn't matter, in fact, I think it was better without them, this way it made it more real.

If you are a fan of the apes movies, you'll like this. More of a story line I think than the others. 
Kinda long if you aren't one to sit long (2 hrs & 22 mins). 
Personally, I think I would have like it better if it was shorter, still real good though.

This movie didn't get very good ratings by either "Rotten Tomatoes" or the "Audience", but I thought they were pretty hard on it.
I admit, the 2nd half had too much fighting, but the first have was pretty good. Not that the whole movie wasn't worth seeing, but the ending got to be a smidge boring because the fighting went on and on, it was just too much for my liking, but if you are into that kind of stuff, then you'll like it a lot.
Tom Cruise  is Tom Cruise, he was really good in it.
Would I have paid to see it knowing what I know now? Yeah, but only if there were no other good movies out at the same time.

I've seen this lead actor in an off beat (not well known) movie in the theater at least a year ago that was in Spanish only (a comedy with captions). It was way funny, so I thought I'd try this newer one of his. It did not let me down, in fact, it was way better than the other one he starred in.
Basically its about him being a male gigolo (tastefully). 
After mooching off of a rich 80 year old woman, she dumps him for a younger guy. lol
His once wonderful life is turned upside down and he becomes homeless overnight.
He has no where to turn but to his sister (Salma Hayek) who has had little to no contact with him in many years.
This is purely (IMO) for adults. Its not for adults because of anything inappropriate, its just a story line that younger viewers may not care for (for sure young children).
I gave it an 8.5 out of 10.

Soooooo.... if you have money to blow, and there are no other movies to see, and you are bored to tears, go ahead.
Very cheesy!  Lots of prehistoric animals fighting (which means LOTS of blood and guts).
This is geared mainly towards teenagers who like this kind of stuff.
Even if you are a King Kong fan, I've seen better.

A British explorer goes into the Amazon to find evidence of a previous civilization. 
Very good acting  and lots of action.

This was based on a true story. 

There seems to be an interest in movies about war for the last year or so some reason. This one was incredibly good (as well as the one below).

At the beginning of WWI, the Turkish government is trying to eliminate the Armenian people by genocide.  

A large group of Armanian friends, family and others find their way to escape, but are soon confronted by the Turkish soldiers. 

Excellent movie! 

I gave it  a 9.5 out of 10.

This was also based on a true story. 
It takes place in Warsaw, Poland during the war with Germany.
Basically about a family who owns a local Zoo in which the Nazis take it over for their purposes.
The movie is kinda slow through out, but later moves along a lot better. 
* Warning: Even though this was a PG-13, it did have a couple of nude scenes (split second ones) which really surprised me that it would contain that, aside from that, excellent movie. Needless to say, not for kids.
I gave it  a 9 out of 10.

I had no idea how funny this was going to be.
Mary and I laughed and laughed the whole way through. This turned out to be WAY better than I ever expected. 
It's for children for sure, but there was adult humor from beginning to the end. 
Its a must see!
This may sound odd (because I rarely give out a 10) but we both gave it  a 8 out of 10.
* Update: I took my grandkids to see it on May 20th (ages 13, 10, 8 & 5), the three older ones said it was so far the best movie of the year. They absolutely loved it.

I'm probably the last person to see this. lol I heard nothing but really good reviews on it (both movie critics and movie goers). 
There was a lot of hype over this, so I was expecting a lot. 
The graphics of course were over the top great (that only Disney can do).
I've seen the older version, and liked it a lot, but I liked this one much more, so oh yeah, its a must see.
BTW, I saw it in 3D, the only way to go for this movie.
                    I give it an  9.5 out of 10.

I'm sorry, but just the name and the first 30 seconds of an online preview made me not want to see it. lol  Maybe for H.S. kids who play basketball?? lol

I was REALLY looking forward to this movie, but to be honest, I was disappointed. To "me", it was very very slow, and very VERY cheesy. 

The acting wasn't all that, and the people who were suppose to be God (or Godlike) were in my opinion, pushing sacrilegious. 

The over all message was good, there were very touching moments later on, but I felt like it could have been done much better.

A lot of you sappy people who don't care (and even enjoy lol) the cheesiness, may fall in love with it. 

About 1/2 through it, I wanted to walk out, but after paying $9.75 for the ticket, that kept me from it. lol   

                                            I give it an  5-6 out of 10.

I saw it twice I liked it so much.

True story about a young boy in India who gets lost at a train station and how he survives all of his experiences and ordeals.

The movie depicts his life from the time he gets lost, to his adulthood. 

A must see movie IMO.

I don't think this is a movie that a young child would be interested in or want to see.

I give it an  9.5 out of 10.

I really did think this was going to be a "soso" movie, but boy was I wrong! Unbelievable acting on Joseph Fiennes part!

I've typically never like those who portray the Savior (ok, a couple, but thats it), but the person who played Jesus looked like a regular person, someone I personally could imagine of what he would really look like.

Super movie... IMO, fantastic! A must see.

(Update: So good, I bought the DVD).

Saturday Night Live actor Jason Sudekis was very good in this as Jesse's track coach.

If you don't know much about Jesse Owens, then you really need to see this, and for those who are familiar, its still worth seeing.

Do NOT waste your money, Mary and I walked out of it half way through it. Even I like dumb comedy, but this was just plain stupid and boring.
      
The movie never got going IMO.   There was a lot of hype of this movie, but it no way lived up to it.  One of the worst movies I've ever seen.  

The way I see it, if you can't give the movie at least a 6 out of 10, they should give you your money back!

Based on a true story.....

Mary wanted to see this, but I didn't want to go because I thought it was going to be some dumb chick flick.. WRONG! I basically went out of shear boredom, but glad I did. 

It wasn't anything that I was expecting (mainly because I had no idea what it was about lol).

Not something to run out to see, but it is still a pretty good movie. If you don't catch it at the theater, be sure to rent it when it comes out.

Directed by Ron Howard - Based on the novel Moby Dick.

This is a movie that keeps you interested and on the edge of your seat (most of the time lol). There were a few swears words, not many and nothing really bad. 

It was very entertaining and well worth paying the big bucks. 

I give it an  8.5 out of 10.

I'm typically a big James Bond fan, and even though it had a lot of action in many places,  something seemed to be missing to me. I couldn't quite put my finger on it,  I have to admit I wasn't too thrilled with it. I'm not saying it isn't worth seeing, its just not one of my favorite James Bond movies. 

I give it an  7 out of 10.

Based on a true story..... As usual, Tom Hanks was super good.

It's not a shoot 'em up, blow 'em up movie.

Tom Hanks plays a lawyer who is asked to represent a caught Soviet spy so that he gets a fair trial here in the U.S.

He ends up negotiating a caught U.S. pilots release in exchange of the Russian spy. 

I personally liked it a lot. I could see where some might think its too slow for their liking, but I thought it was very well done.

                   I give it an  8.5 out of 10.

I've seen all past Hunter Game movies, and I have to admit, I've never been a big fan. I'm sure this doesn't sit well with most of you lol, so I'm sorry.
With that said, if you are a fan, I still say the past one's were better. This was just too slow at times (even Mary leaned over to me saying it was slow).
You will still enjoy it if you are a fan, I'm just not one of them. 
Trying to be fair, I give it a 7 out of 10.

Starring Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman & Chiwetel Ejiofor. 
Wow! If you like a murder mystery, this one is for you! And don't even try to guess the ending, cuz you'll never figure it out. lol
Mary and I really liked it a lot. Because it is PG-13, there is some swearing (not bad though). 
There is no sex / nudity involved.
Not something for young kids to see though as the story is for adults.
You can't go wrong seeing this one.
                     I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

I thought this was going to be a total "chick flick" (don't know what else to call it), but it wasn't. It's for both guys and gals. Pretty funny. A good date night movie. I seriously doubt any teenager would appreciate it though, mainly for adults.
